Clarkston Area Youth Assistance: Community Resource Website

Wix Website Concept: The Clarkston Area Youth Assistance (CAYA) website was designed to support students and families within the Clarkston Community Schools district. The concept focused on creating a user-friendly, engaging platform that addresses critical issues such as juvenile delinquency, child neglect, and abuse. The goal was to deliver valuable resources and information effectively, enhancing accessibility and community support while emphasizing CAYA’s mission and services.

Description: The website features an intuitive layout highlighting CAYA’s mission and providing easy access to programs, educational materials, and community support services. Initially, efforts were made to update an older HTML/CSS site, but user testing revealed significant accessibility challenges. Considering the client’s limited computer literacy and need for a straightforward editing process, Wix was selected as the best platform. Designed using Wix, the site ensures that CAYA staff can easily update and maintain content while keeping the focus on delivering essential resources to the community. The project demonstrates web design and non-profit communication skills, showcasing an ability to create a supportive online presence that aligns with organizational goals and effectively serves the community.
