Exercise A - Pen Tool - Outline Image
Due: Oct 13
Objective
Learn to use the Pen Tool to create paths in Photoshop.
Overview
Open the supplied image in Photoshop, and by using the Pen Tool, draw a complete and accurate path around the object. There are various aspects of the Pen Tool available via key commands.
One the object is outlined, use that path to make a selection and remove the background.
To demonstrate the accuracy of your path, place a layer of black behind the object so we can see your selection skills clearly. Be sure to save your final image as a JPG.
Research/Development Work Due
None. As this is an exercise, no developmental sketches are needed.
Final Work Due
Place your final JPG on the “Student Turn In” section of the Graphics Server. The file should be named in this manner; “Student’sLastName-PenTool.psd”.
Note: it is very important to turn in the Photoshop file as it will retain the built paths. Students should expect a lower grade if they don't turn in a file that displays the saved paths.
